During Jump Festa last year, we got the surprise announcement of The One Piece Remake by WIT Studio. This has been the dream announcement that the fans have yearned for all these years. Now, on One Piece Day 2024, a lot of new details along with new art, character designs, and production details for the brand-new anime were revealed. Here is everything that was showcased at Netflix’s THE ONE PIECE Remake Production BTS today.
The One Piece Remake Production Staff Revealed
As you know, WIT Studio is in charge of remaking the One Piece anime. Thus, renowned animators in the industry and several new young staff members have onboarded the ship to craft the remake. Here are the production staff members of The One Piece remake:
- Director: Masashi Koizuka (known for Attack on Titan, Durara, Baccano, etc.)
- Assistant Director: Hideaki Abe (known for Jujutsu Kaisen, Ride Your Wave, Penguin Highway, etc.)
- Series Composition: Taku Kishimoto (known for Erased, Haikyuu, Blue Lock, etc.)
- Character Design/ Chief Animation Director: Kyoji Asano, Takatoshi Honda (known for Spy x Family, Penguindrum, Kenichi, etc.)
- Creature Design/ Concept Art: Yasuhiro Kajino
- Prop Designer: Eri Taguchi (known for Jujutsu Kaisen, March Comes In Like a Lion, etc.)
- Action Animator: Ken Imaizumi, Shuhei Fukuda (known for My Hero Academia, Haikyuu, and Jujutsu Kaisen)
- Art Director: Tomonori Kuroda (known for Witch Craft Works, A Certain Scientific Railgun series, etc.)
Director Masashi Koizuka talked about his love for One Piece in an interview BTS, and said, “I knew that I love One Piece the most in this studio so I took this project because I didn’t want anyone else working on it. I will definitely create something interesting. Please look forward to it. Thank you.”
