In true Dragon Ball fashion, Sparking Zero begins with the classic tale of Goku fighting against his dear loving brother, Raditz. Almost every iteration in the series has kicked off with this, but now it’s taken on a new form through the game’s What If? scenario.
If you want to see this new pathway to Goku’s journey, here’s how to defeat Raditz quickly in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.
How to unlock alternate path in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Rematch and Result
To unlock the alternate pathway in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Rematch and Result, you must beat Raditz in roughly one minute and 30 seconds. Once this time’s up, Piccolo will go along the story’s canon route and take over the fight with his Special Beam Cannon. Although it isn’t too much time to work with, there are a few ways to quicken the pace.
The first thing you want to do is charge up your Ki and wait for your Skill Count progress bar to load up. Skill Counts will gradually fill throughout the match, so keep track of it in the upper-left-hand corner. When it’s accumulated at least one point, you can push Goku beyond his limits by entering Sparking Mode. This particular form dramatically enhances the character’s performance, making the enemies easier to defeat.
With Sparking Mode active, punch Raditz until the purple-colored gauge has almost depleted. Then, unleash Goku’s special attack, Super Kamehameha, to deal even more damage. The two attacks together deplete Raditz’s health substantially, especially since regular punches have been buffed through Sparking. However, you’ll likely need to repeat this process once more to drain Raditz’s health completely.
Goku’s other abilities, like Kamehameha and Meteor Smash, also come in handy. They moreso helped me when Raditz was on his last leg, inflicting damage from a long range. I will say, though, that Goku’s Solar Flare isn’t really needed for this fight. While it is supposed to stun foes, it doesn’t seem to have too much impact on them.
As long as you use these techniques, you should have enough strength to go through this battle quickly. But if you still aren’t triggering Raditz’s quick defeat, you may need to check your difficulty setting. Remember, lower difficulty levels cannot trigger alternate paths such as this. Therefore, you must set it to Normal via the Episode Battle page.
Those having trouble with the Normal level can use the Dragon Orb to ease the tension of the alternate pathway. The Dragon Orb is a special item that you can use to decrease the difficulty of these specific challenges, resulting in faster takedowns.
After eliminating Raditz quickly in Sparking Zero, you’ll unlock a special Sparking Episode, a brand-new storyline unique to the Dragon Ball universe. This defeat will also open up a new pathway for Goku, offering more distinct takes to his storyline.
If you found the Sparking Mode technique helpful in defeating Raditz, remember that it’s a versatile tool that can be used in other battles as well. The method has benefitted me throughout Sparking Zero, including other character arcs like Future Trunks and Piccolo.
