Type Soul can be extremely overwhelming for new people considering there are no tutorials to help you through the game. That’s where our complete beginner’s guide for Type Soul comes in.

Character Creation
You will have two free slots in Type Soul to make your character. If you want to make anything more than that, you will have to purchase a slot from the store for 200 Robux. There are three races in Type Soul: Shinigami, Hollow and Quincy. That means you can play two out of three for free (or one twice if you really like it), but you can’t complete content for all without paying or wiping your slot.
To wipe your slot, you will have to obtain a Soul Ticket. These items drop when fighting bosses like Bawabawa (Hueco) and Jidanbo (Soul Society). Be careful with a Soul Ticket, however, since it doesn’t have an extra ”are you sure” button, so if you use it accidentally, you will say bye bye to possibly many hours on a slot.

How to Redeem Codes in Type Soul
Codes are some of the most useful tools for game progression in Roblox, and it’s the same in Type Soul. To redeem a code first click on the little gift button in the top bar. Now all you have to do is copy and paste the codes to get useful rewards like rerolls.
Shinigami (Soul Reaper) Progression Guide
For Shinigami, you will start the game as a Trainee and you will have to work your way up. First, you will have to complete missions from the Mission Boards which you can find at every Division.
Before going anywhere, make sure to unlock two Passive skills which cost zero points. First is Flashstep as you will be roaming a lot, and this will get you to places quicker. You should also grab Soul Style for zero points, making sure that you have a good move while doing missions.
Now go to the closest Mission Board and keep completing the Missions until you are able to join a Division at Grade 3. The best Division to join is Division 12, especially while you are still upgrading for battle. You can do this by talking to the Captain of the Division.
Division 12 duties are actually a minigame where you have to click on fast appearing Honestly, after a while it becomes pretty hypnotizing that I was just playing on muscle memory. Play the mini game until you reach Grade 2.
Once you do, sit down and meditate (this will take around five minutes). You will have to meditate four times before you can start the quest to get your Shikai. This way you can gain Shikai Exp alongside Division and Mission Exp to reach Semi-grade 1.
Finally, to reach Elite Grade, you will need to do everything. That means getting Raid Exp, Shikai Exp, Division Exp, Mission Exp and Grip Exp.
Quincy Progression Guide
Quincy progression is considerably easier than the Shinigami one. You will spawn in as a Grade 5, and to get to Semi-Grade 1, all you have to do is complete missions from the Mission Boards. At Grade 2 you can also obtain your Schrift.
To reach Elite Grade, you will have to get Mission Exp, Raid Exp, Grip Exp and you need to go and kill Hollow NPCs.
Hollow (Arrancar) Progression Guide
Hollow progression can be very tedious, especially if you are just starting out. When you first enter, you will spawn in as Fishbone. Your goal is to defeat other Fishbone and eat them since they are the easiest target.
However, what makes this a drag is other players who will be targeting you instead of the NPCs. Keep trying until you defeat and eat enough Fishbones until you respawn as a Menos. Now that you’re a Menos, keep defeating your enemies until you can evolve into a Adjucha.
You can take off the mask as both a Menos and Adjucha, however, it’s not recommended to do it as a Menos, since you will get only Grade 5 as a humanoid. If you pull off the mask as an Adjuchas, you will get Grade 3.
You can try to reach Vasto Lorde and Semi-grade 2, but I suggest instead taking off the Mask at Adjucha and grinding out the Hogyoku Fragments to reach Vastocar.
Whenever you take off the mask and become an Arrancar, you will need to grind Mission Exp to reach Semi Grade 1. You can do this on the Mission Boards throughout the region.
From Semi Grade 1 to Elite Grade, you need to get Mission Exp by completing the Missions and Grip Exp, which you get by killing other players with the Grip move.
Should you use Reroll right away in Type Soul?
Absolutely, you should use rerolls right away as you get them in Type Soul. You will get so many of them from codes so might as well use them whenever you can. This increases your chance to get the rarest items. However, once you have exactly what you are looking for on one slot, then stop using them and save them up for a different slot.
Skill Trees in Type Soul Explained
Depending on which skill tree you invest your skill points in, you will be able to acquire various moves and passives to help you in battle. You get skill points by completing missions and leveling up as each race. There are a total of five skill trees:
- Hakuda – hand to hand combat skills. If you choose this branch, you can’t choose Kendo.
- Kendo – sword fighting combat skills. If you choose this branch, you can’t choose Hakuda.
- Kido – skills specific to each race.
- Medic – allows you to save yourself as well as others on your team.
- Speed – improves your movement through speed increase and teleportation.
