The Call of Duty series has spanned many decades from the trenches of WW2 into the spaceships of Infinite Warfare. The Call of Duty Black Ops 6 time period is rather unique in the series, and it takes place in a nostalgic era for many living today.
When does the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 time period take place?
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 takes place under the Presidencies of George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton in the early 90s. The Steam page for the game characterizes the time as a “period of transition and upheaval in global politics,” as the world sees the end of the Cold War and “the rise of United States as a single superpower.”
In this game, you play as series veteran Frank Woods and Troy Marshall, who have been exiled from the country as a “shadowy clandestined force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA,” says the official Call of Duty website. All of this is set under the backdrop of the Gulf War in Iraq, and both agents are cast out after an operation goes wrong.
What’s your mission in the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign?
As an outcast, you’ll be gathering evidence between missions and making a tactical plan. This is likely against the organization that ousted you and hunting you down. Between missions, you’ll be getting cash to invest in the safehouse and be given customization options for your Operator as a reward. This process will let you “piece together the puzzles within the storyline before deciding on your best course of action.” Hopefully, the Black Ops 6 time period chosen will add much to the storyline as you play the game on your console, PC, or phone.
Unfortunately, we won’t get early access to the campaign, unlike previous entries in the series.
