The puzzle's theme brought back memories of Hello Kitty characters! While searching for the answers, I quickly found the words BLACK and TUXEDO, but then hit a wall. After a few minutes, I used a hint to discover TABBY, and eventually unearthed the Spangram.
Later, I realized that I could create the word TORTOISESHELL, and finally found ORANGE, which led me to the Spangram FURCOAT. The last word I found was CALICO.
