Black Myth Wukong is not a traditional Souls-like game. However, it is very similar in one aspect and that is cryptic questlines. There are multiple questlines in Black Myth Wukong which unlock multiple secret bosses. One such example is the Drunken Boar quest, a task that hides one of the best boss fights along with the Kingdom of Sahali secret area. If you have already found the Drunken Boar but don’t know how to progress his quest, then don’t worry as here is a complete Drunken Boar quest guide for Black Myth Wukong.
Discovering the Location of the Drunken Boar in Chapter 2
To kick off the Drunken Boar quest line, your first objective is to locate the Drunken Boar in Chapter 2. You can find him near the Rockrest Flat Shrine in Fright Cliff. To reach this shrine, simply go straight ahead from the Squall Hideout Shrine. Once you arrive at the area, proceed straight from the Keepers Shrine, avoiding the left turn towards the Stone Vanguard boss room.
Continue straight until you reach an open space where the Drunken Boar is sitting. Interacting with him will reveal his request for help to sober up. This interaction sets the stage for the next steps in his quest.
Obtaining the Sobering Stone
Your next task involves finding a Sobering Stone and delivering it to the Drunken Boar. There are two primary locations to acquire a Sobering Stone in Chapter 2:
- Windrest Bridge in Yellow Wind Formation: Start at the Windrest Bridge Keepers Shrine, which is located after the Crouching Tiger Temple. Move forward past the enemies and take a left at the end of the path. Ascend the stairs on the right side and then turn left to discover a glowing urn in a small room. Breaking the urn will yield the Sobering Stone.
Once you have the Sobering Stone, return to the Drunken Boar and give it to him. After handing over the stone, he will express his hunger and mention needing meat from the Crouching Tiger Temple.
Locating the Drunken Boar at Crouching Tiger Temple
After the Drunken Boar expresses his hunger, he will relocate to the Crouching Tiger Temple. Head to the Tiger Temple Shrine, but instead of entering the Tiger Vanguard boss fight—which unlocks the parry skill—turn to the right to find the Drunken Boar leaning against a wall. Speak to him again and he will ask for a Jade Lotus.
Delivering the Jade Lotus to the Drunken Boar
The Jade Lotus is a harvestable plant found plentifully in Chapter 1 around bodies of water. Before you embark on a search, check with the Drunken Boar to see if you already possess the Jade Lotus. If you don’t have it, fast travel to the Village Entrance Shrine, head backwards up the stairs, and take the left path until you reach the water’s edge. Move to the right over the water until you spot the Jade Lotus.
Once you have gathered the Jade Lotus, return to the Drunken Boar and present it to him. He will then divulge information about a hidden area known as the Kingdom of Sahali and reward you with a coin.
Confronting the Yellow-Robed Squire
Next, you will need to return to the area where you first encountered the Drunken Boar. Upon arrival, a cutscene will trigger, leading you to battle the Yellow-Robed Squire boss. Defeating this boss will allow him to guide you to the Kingdom of Sahali, and you will also receive the Snout Mask headgear as a reward.
Approach the closed door and interact with it to enter the secret area, Kingdom of Sahali. This area promises new adventures and challenges, providing players with a unique experience within the game.
Exploring the Kingdom of Sahali
Within the Kingdom of Sahali, players will encounter two secret bosses: the Tiger Vanguard (a different iteration) and Fuban. The fight against Fuban, in particular, stands out as one of the most thrilling encounters in the game.
During the battle with Fuban, you will be joined by the Yellow Wind sage of the past, making it a spectacular showdown. Upon defeating Fuban, you will be transported back to the initial Drunken Boar location, concluding the quest. The Tiger Vanguard 2 fight rewards players with the Tiger Tally curio, while the Fuban fight grants the Wind Tamer vessel and a Sky-Piercing Horn weapon material.
